(TROY, MI) – Join Santa Claus at City Hall for the Annual City of Troy ChristmasTree Lighting Ceremony on Wednesday, December 7 at 7 pm. The event takes place outdoors on Veterans Plaza at City Hall, 500 West Big Beaver. All residents are invited to bring their families and friends for an evening of caroling, cookies, hot cocoa and fun.
“A number of years ago, Tom’s Landscape generously donated a
beautiful Colorado spruce to help enhance the landscaping here at City Hall,”
Community Affairs Director Cindy Stewart said.
“Gathering around that beautiful tree has become a tradition that
families look forward to each year. And
this year, we are so thankful to our event sponsor, Genisys Credit Union, a wonderful community
partner.”
Children are invited to visit with Santa Claus after he lights our Christmas tree. The Athens High School Choirs (Magic! & Concert Choir), directed by Michele Marszalkowski, will lead the caroling. Enjoy hot cocoa & holiday sweets after Santa Claus makes his grand entrance to light the City Christmas Tree. He’ll also join in the singing and, of course, visit with the little ones.
“This is a great opportunity to visit with Santa right here in the heart of the City,” Stewart said. “Be sure and dress for the weather.”
Event held in front of City Hall at the Veteran’s Plaza and cablecast on WTRY (WOW 10 / Comcast 17). For more information, call the Community Affairs Department at 248.524.1147.
