– The Troy City Treasurer’s Office now serves
as an official Passport Acceptance Agency and accepts applications from U.S.
Citizens from 9 am - 3 pm, Monday-Friday.
The only exceptions when they will NOT process passports will be
during tax bill due dates: February 6-17, 2012. Photo services are available for a fee at the
City Clerk’s Office.
A Passport Book is valid for land, air and
sea travel. The passport card is only
valid for land and sea travel between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, the
Caribbean region, and Bermuda. Please note: Children under 16 will be able to
continue crossing land and sea borders using only a U. S. birth certificate (or
other form of U. S. citizenship such as a naturalization certificate). The original birth certificate or a copy may
be used.
Passport fees vary
depending on age, if it is a new application or renewal, or if expedited
service is required. Current passport information can be obtained on the US
Dept. of State website at www.travel.state.gov or by contacting the City
Treasurer’s office at 248.524.3333.
