Oakland County Hazardous Materials Response Teams

Troy has both Firefighters and Police Officers assigned to the OCHMRT. This Team is responsible for responding to and mitigating hazardous materials incidents. The team is comprised of approximately 50 members from fire, police, and public safety agencies throughout Oakland County.

Oakland Regional Response Team (RRT)

Troy is home to one of the 16 RRTs located throughout Michigan. These teams, determined by the Michigan State Police, are trained and equipped to respond to hazardous materials (HazMat) and weapons of mass destruction (WMD) incidents. Oakland County’s team consists of over 50 members from fire, police, and public safety agencies throughout Oakland County.

Communications Support Team (CST)

Troy houses the CST which is an organized team of specially trained personnel whose function is to provide technical support to the Mobile Command Post and/or the Incident Management Team with radio, data, and video communications. This team consists of approximately 20 members from fire, police, and public safety agencies throughout Oakland County.
